Megan Wood is the Deputy Director at the Guarini Institute. In this role, she oversees institute operations for participant onboarding for both students and faculty directors. Megan manages one-half of the Guarini Institute's program portfolio, . She also serves as a key member of the Guarini leadership team, addressing student health, disciplinary, and accessibility case management issues in close collaboration with partners across the Dean of Faculty, Undergraduate Education, and Student Affairs, and acts with primary decision-making authority in the absence of the Executive Director.
A native Oregonian, Megan holds a bachelor's degree in International Studies with a concentration in Japanese Language and Culture from The Evergreen State College and a master's degree in International Education from the SIT Graduate Institute. She has more than 20 years of experience in international education in the areas of promotion, recruitment, advising, admissions, and program development and management. As an undergraduate, Megan studied abroad three times, has traveled to five continents, and is proficient in Spanish—experiences that deeply inform her commitment to global education and study away.
Outside of work, Megan loves chasing after her two spirited boys and is fully embracing her hockey mom era at the hockey rink. In the Upper Valley, she can often be found lounging at the lake on the weekends or at the nearest ice cream stand—Mac's Maple is her undisputed favorite.
