Your Health and Studying Away

Students who study away should be aware that attitudes toward medical conditions, disabilities, and psychological conditions vary by country. These differences may impact the level of treatment and accommodation available abroad. Students should give serious consideration to their health and personal circumstances when applying for a program and should consult with their physicians. See Health Insurance and Health Planning and Risks below for more information.

Guarini Institute staff and other college personnel are actively monitoring health, safety, and security developments at each of our program locations.

We encourage you, along with your family, to carefully think about the implications of studying in another country, or at an off-campus location in the U.S., not only regarding academic concerns, but also in terms of the emotional, health, and safety demands that will be placed on you. Health and safety precautions should be researched and discussed. Plan ahead, but also, be flexible within a new context and when faced with new challenges.  If you have any questions, we are here to help you as you prepare for a term away.
